South Africa, Mida-School

Mida-School was established in 1996 by David and Iris Mniki, in a small town called Idutywa, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Their vision is to see education being available to all children and adults.

At the moment the school has 810 students.

Class sizes are one of the biggest tests in Mida-School. The 2 year groups in the pre-school are 67 and 72 respectively.

With class sizes of those numbers, teaching is not easy. Nevertheless the professionalism with which David and Iris support their team of pre-school teachers ensures the best possible education for all children.

The accommodation is not ideal, with class rooms too small, too few and in urgent need of expansion to hold the growing numbers of students.
